Overall aims of the centre: to develop methods of environmental education, and their implementation. Prepare and conduct environmental education activities (informative and entertaining programs, quizzes, competitions and so on.) Providing information and guidance to teachers on environmental education and protected business, development and the creation of a souvenir, planning and conducting mass events, products reserve, working with the media, conducting PR in about networks.

Description of the centre

The Bologna State Nature Reserve was established on November 18, 1997. It is located in the North-Eastern part of the Middle Amur Lowland. It occupies the lower part of river basins, including the shallow delta-shaped lakes Kiltasin, Albite, the island of Yersuyn, from the north it adjoins the Harpi River Delta and the southern shore of Lake Bologna.

The area of ​​protected areas is 103.6 thousand ha. The reserve territory is part of the Amur and Nanai administrative regions of the Khabarovsk Territory. It is a Ramsar site.

A dense network of rivers and lakes determines the specifics of the territory, about 80% of which are swamps. Forest types of vegetation are represented strictly on the rocky areas. The main value of the wildlife of the reserve are birds of the ornithological complex of the river basin. Amur. “Bird Crossroads” is the name of this territory. In spring and autumn, numerous swans, geese, ducks, waders and cranes, daytime predators and small birds find rest and food in the reserve. Birds associated with wetland habitats predominate. 95% of the remaining Far Eastern storks, 65% of the Japanese and 50% of the Daurian cranes nest here. The total number of species is 210. Among them, 6 species of birds are classified as globally dangerous for subsequentlists. These are the Far East stork, Japanese crane, swan goose, Lesser White-fronted Eagle, Steller’s sea-eagle.  On the territory of the reserve there are 18 species and populations of birds listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation, 35 in need of protection of bird species from the avifauna complex of the southern Pribolonya, listed in the Red Book of the Khabarovsk Territory.

On the territory of the reserve operational work and scientific activity are carried out. Environmental education takes place in all settlements in the reserve.

The number of visitors to the territory – 15 people annually.
Since 2014, the Reserve has been a branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Zapovednoe Priamurye”.

Main CEPA work areas
Conducting classes and master classes at educational institutions in Amursk and the Amursky district of Khabarovsk Krai, creating and conducting multimedia educational programs, games, contests, photo exhibitions, and thematic meetings. Conducting educational seminars for teachers. Creation and distribution of souvenir products of the Reserve. Interaction with mass media.

Top three successes

Holding events within the framework of the Year of the Far Eastern Stork 2018 (creative competitions, classes for schoolchildren, research of storks, etc.). Participation in the Salmon Freedom campaign as part of the International Salmon Year (creative competitions, classes, station games for schoolchildren, workshops, discussion meetings, participation in the protected marathon).
